Larry was born in 1940 and grew up in High Prairie, Alberta. He attended the University of Alberta, pursuing a civil engineering degree. While in Edmonton, he met Joy and started a family together. After completing his education, Larry, Joy, and their young daughter Laura left Alberta to facilitate his new career with Conforce Structures, and relocated to Regina where Kirk later joined the family.

Larry left Conforce and founded Lark Enterprises in 1972. He was an ardent supporter of the Open-Shop / Free Enterprise business models in British Columbia, and helped pave the way for Expo 86 to be constructed by open shop contractors and subcontractors.

In the early nineties, the passing of Larry’s beloved wife, Joy Fisher, crystallized Larry’s resolve, and Lark continued to grow and moved to diversify into care and healthcare, bringing positive changes for Larry and the business. Larry’s vision and tenacity eventually created a home where technology, healthcare, and innovation could co-exist, transform, and create. Along the way, Larry met Anne, his second love, and they had been happily married for more than 20 years.

The life of Larry Fisher was defined by his perseverance and tenacity, and he never backed away from a fight. Unfortunately, Larry succumbed to a more formidable foe – cancer. He will be remembered for many things by many people. However, the most important memory should be the honest smile of a farm-boy who, by any measure, made grand success while remaining humble and true to himself, his family, and his friends.
